How is it that manipulation and deceit are a part of borderline personality disorder?

Trauma or APD: First of all it is a part of all human nature, but varies in severity among the various personality disorders. Many people with bpd ( borderline pd) were abused and manipulated and taught to lie as children they repeat this as a survival mechanism or as acting out in adulthood. Some actually are antisocial personalities, but society seems to shy away from placing that label on women.

Borderline : Intense fear of abandonment, being manipulative, impulsivity, a tendency to think of people and things in all good or all bad terms, self mutilating behaviors, drug and alcohol abuse, sexual impulsivity, a profoundly disturb sense of self, and extreme emotional volatility. Being hardwired this way is a combination of genetic and environmental factors. In short, no one knows definitively.
