Eustachian tube: These days, we're leaning away from offering antibiotics for middle ear effusions (fluid in ears) and even infections, in otherwise healthy patients. Instead, we recommend antihistamines & decongestants to clear eustachian tube and relieve pain from eustachian tube dysfunction (imagine landing in main cabin w/clogged ears). Get some pain relief from your doc along w/antihistamines & decongestants.
