Eating Late: The later you eat the more difficult it is to sleep as you are digesting laying down, on the other hand many europeans eat quite late and do not seem to have a problem so it may be related to conditioning. I think i would agree with the wife's tale in general. Best wishes.

Depends: Your body digests food very slowly after 8 but it is more important to not eat 4 hours before you go to bed or eat something very small, since your metabolism is moving much slower.
