Depends: If you just want to brush and floss... Probably not... But other things have the potential of causing great harm. I would suggest spending some time in a dental office watching or seeing if you can get a job as an assistant. It would be a great learning experience from a positive minded dentist.

Good for you!: Dentistry can be an interesting , challenging, ever evolving and often lucrative profession. I believe, us news and world reports rated dentistry as the top profession of 2013. So, put on those gloves and floss your friend's teeth.

Study hard: Call dental schools you are interested in. Spend time getting awesome grades and preparing yourself to get into dental school. IF you can make the grade and IF you can get in I assure you that you will have plenty of time to 'practice' on others. The requirements are incredibly difficult to get into dental school, I would volunteer and shadow at as many offices as you can....Good luck!!

Congratulations!: There are many unique opportunities and benefits within your reach if you choose a dental career. Be patient, you will have a long career to practice. And remember, dentists treat people, not just teeth and mouths. Take care.
