Stay off of it: Resting is the hardest part of recovery. Staying off of it is critical and overlooked as one of the most important steps. I'm assuming you're on crutches so make sure to work your quads with simple lifting exercises on the broken ankle side. Also, stay focused on healthy eating and less sitting (kills metabolism). Don't smoke and abstain from alcohol. Good luck!

You can't: Bone takes 6-8 weeks to heal so you won't be at max fitness for a while because you will likely need therapy to follow.
