Xrays reveal ???: If your dr took your cast off, that is a question that he should have answered for you at the time of the visit. The ability to bear weight on the ankle/foot will dependent on whether the ankle has healed. An xray would probably be taken for comparison. Typically bones take 6-8 weeks to heal; however, soft tissue structures surrounding the joints take longer.

Doc didn't tell you?: I am surprised that the doc did not tell you. My assumption is yes--because doc removing the cast means the fracture healed adequately now and thus you should be able to start bearing some weight. Try to put some, then increase as you feel comfortable. It will not feel normal just yet--it will take some time. You may need some physical therapy. I suggest consulting doc--he/she knows you best. Good luck.

Rehab ankle - x-ray: 6 weeks is the normal time to get back on your ankle, but before doing so, an x-ray must confirm the bones are healed or in alignment to allow full weight bearing. Remember that the soft tissue around the ankle (ligaments-nerves) were also damaged and need to be exercises, PT is recommended.
