Nerve compression: If your hand go numb at night when you go to sleep, you may have carpal tunnel or cubital tunnel (compression of the ulnar nerve around your funny bone). If your numbness is mostly in the ring and small fingers, then you likely have cubital tunnel syndrome. When you bend your elbow for long periods (during sleep, driving, or talking on the phone), it places the ulnar nerve on tension.
