How to avoid fainting after a blood test?

Tell the tech: If you tend to faint after a blood draw, tell the person drawing the blood, before s/he draws blood so that you may be placed in a safe position. It is not something that you can control and is not a sign of weakness. You may help your cause by drinking a glass of water an hour or so before the test.
