Not recommended: Based on your question, it sounds like your grandmother has dementia with psychotic features, thus the treatment with Risperdal had a good response. Should she read religious material again this could certainly re-trigger the delusions as dementia is progressive.

Complex issue.: My response combines input from both of the previous answers you received. If your grandmother has traditionally been a woman of strong faith & her spirituality is a central part of her life - i would not dissuade this. However, if she developed hyper-religiosity in the context of a mental/ medical condition & it exists primarily as a symptom (not a way of life) then i would not encourage it.
