Plugged ear: The fluid may be in your middle ear and accumulated because your eustachian tube is plugged up, and has nothing to do with being around water of getting water in the external canal. With middle ear fluid, you get that feeling of 'plugged up'. Pop your ears frequently, chew gum, yawn - the same things you do on a plane if ears plug. If pain or drainage develop, see doctor.
