You can wear ear plugs transiently with a ruptured drum. I find it unlikely that a casual shower would push water deep into your ear canal, but your idea of a shower likely differs from most. I would not use plugs if this were me, but you are fine to do it if you wish.

Very little popping in ruptured ear drum, i think it's healed, should I still wear ear plugs in shower just to be safe. Slight echo, can hear people.
