Go back to Doctor...: .......To make sure that's what it is. Rashes from different causes can look alike. It's especially important to return to the doctor if there is any joint swelling or blood in the urine or stool.

Depends: Hsp is an immune mediated problem where circulating factors create the injury to the small blood vessels that create the characteristic rash. It often takes 4-6 weeks to run its course and improvements and flares are not uncommon.I do like to monitor the urine of patients over several weeks to be sure no red cells emerge as evidence of kidney injury.This usually shows up early.
