Can you suggest tips for a teenager that has risk of getting type 1 diabetes?

Not much control : With type 1/juvenile onset/ Insulin dependent there is a genetic susceptibility that likely has an environmental trigger. This is an autoimmune disease so it may be a viral illness that starts the process or some other exposure that activates the immune system. Researching some of the suspected triggers may provide some help in avoidance as well as feeling like a proactive stance is being taken.
