Double diabetes: Yes. It's possible to get type 2 diabetes on top of type 1. With type 1, your body can't make insulin, with type 2 your body can become resistant to insulin. Risk factors for type 2 include being overweight and a sedentary lifestyle, so it's important to eat healthily and be active even if you're type 1!

Yes: These type 1 patients often have family members with type 2 diabetes. They have a tendency to weight gain, increase blood pressure, abnormal cholesterol pattern, and can also be recognized by Insulin resistance- requiring Insulin doses much higher than the usual 30-40 units daily most type 1 patients need.

No : Type i diabetes results from antibodies that destroy the cells that produce insulin; in type ii, these cells are still functioning, but the body does not respond normally to the Insulin they produce. Thus one could not have true type i and type ii diabetes at the same time.
