A member asked:

How long is it supposed to it take for a doctor to get the results of a blood test?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends on test: If your doctor has a laboratory in his/her office or complex, simple blood tests like salts, sugar, kidney & liver functions and urine tests may be ready in less than an hour. More complex tests may take a few hours. If there is no lab at your doctor's office, it could be 1-3 days for routine tests to be drawn, processed, and results sent, reviewed, and you called. Complex tests can be > 1 week.
