Not usually: Pet scans are special imaging tests to localize spots of high metabolic activity, such as with metastatic cancer. High ESR can result from many different diseases, and cancer isn't that high on the list. It would be a long jump from ESR to pet scan, unless there was a lot of other data to suggest a use for the pet scan.
