Blepharoplasty: Eyelid surgery, or blepharoplasty, is a safe procedure overall, but there are risks: bleeding, infection, dry eye, scarring, injury to other tissues, asymmetry, need for a revision operation. In general people do well, but it is important to talk to your plastic surgeon about your specific situation.

Surgery carries risk: Any type of surgery we may perform carries risks, not only from the surgery but also the anesthesia the patient receives. A thorough minimum 2 part consultation is necessary to carefully review the risks specifically related to that patient and the procedure.

Always risks: Your surgeon should inform you of the risks inherent to the procedure you are having. Risks of blepharoplasty include: dry eyes, bleeding, infection, poor scarring, abnormal eyelid position amongst others. Having said that, these types of complications are not very common.
