Effect of gravity: When you lie down, gravity pulls at the sides of your abdomen, flattening your stomach. You also relax your abdominal muscles. When you stand up, gravity pulls all of your organs towards your feet, and you tighten up your abdominal muscles, "hiding" your fibroid. Also, it is possible that what you think is your fibroid is really something else (abdominal wall hernia). Show it to your doctor.
