Yes: Cavernous sinus thrombosis is often a complication of infection elsewhere in the head, sinuses or orbit of the eye. It can be extremely severe and life-threatening if not managed quickly and appropriately. It is an uncommon condition and one should be certain of the diagnosis since other conditions may mimic this.
