Reshaping of septum: Septoplasty is surgery to reshape the septum. What you describe seems more involved. Repairing a dime-sized perforation is a bigger surgery. You may want to clarify that.

Repair of septum: A septoplasty means a plastic surgery procedure on the septum. It is not descriptive of the surgical technique which can consist of a series of different maneuvers to repair the hole in the septum. On occasion, the simplest method is simply to plug the hole with a button. Other more complex techniques require rearrangement of the remaining tissues of the nose, occasionally using distant tissue.

Septoplasty: A septoplasty is different from a septal perforation repair. Have your nose evaluated by a board certified facial plastic surgeon.
