A member asked:

If an asd is causing a murmur, would a widely split s2 (racepinephrine) also probably be present? even if missed on echo, would there be signs something was wrong?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Typically yes: A significant ASD should cause a murmur (although not usually a loud one) and wide, fixed splitting of the second heart sound. A small ASD may produce no signs or symptoms at all, particularly in someone your age.
