Heat: Placing a warm compress over any abscess will promote maturation and spontaneous abscess drainage. How to make a warm compress: place 1/4 cup of water and a damp wash cloth (flannel if you are a kiwi) into a zip-lock bag. Microwave until hot. Apply every two hours until bored.
