A member asked:

I had an ovary removed due to torsion (at 3mos pregnant with first of my 2 children) are there significant longterm affects?

OOPHORECTOMY: You still have the other ovary intact. There are no long term effects yet because you are young.

No: Women can live with one ovary and are able to conceive and have babies. You should live like it never happened before.

Future pregnancy: Ovaries produce the eggs, removal of one ovary reduces the number of eggs available for future pregnancies. Therefore it reduces the chances of having future babies. Remember you still have one ovary.
