Increased TMAO: Dietary science shows many correlations, but we lack the means to demonstrate causation, which means we really don't know. The traditional bugaboo about egg yolk is that it is high in cholesterol. New findings in the nejm show that the lecithin in egg yolk increases blood levels of tmao, which has been linked to heart attack and stroke. Rule of thumb: everything in moderation.
