Heat bumps: Heat bumps only occur when you are hot and sweating, they may last more than a day in one spot. Hives are fleeting and have different triggers and heat is just one trigger. Have your lesions examined by an allergist to determine which is which and how to treat your symptoms. Both can occur anywhere on your skin.
