Ibuprophen : Assuming you have no restrictions you can take ibuprophen 600 mg and 2 tylenol (acetaminophen) every 6 hours. Using an ice pack can help. Please see the dentist asap, that is he only way to treat the problem.

2 Tylenol (acetaminophen) + 4 Ibupro: The most effective means for treating pain is to take 2 extra strength tylenol (acetaminophen) and 20 minutes later take 4 Ibuprofen (800 mg). Studies have shown that this combination of Acetaminophen and nsaids has the same effect on pain as prescription drugs with out the effect of feeling groggy or loopy. This can be done every 4-6 hrs. Remember to have something in your stomach!

OTC meds & ice: Advil/ibuprofen/motrin (follow pkg directions exactly) will help take the edge off. Cold compresses will help control swelling. You probably have an infection that requires the skills of a dentist to treat, so get there asap.
