Toothache: Probably means infection, and even if the symptoms have temporarily eased off you have bacteria being carried from the infected tooth to all of your other organ systems. Your need for treatment is acute. Most Dentists can provide you with sedation to ease the procedure. Just let Dentist know about your anxieties. You might also consider mental health counseling to help with self management.

If the pain only: subsided for a short period - that doesn't mean that the problem has resolved. Recommend that you call the dentist's office and advise of your fear. They are probably used to working with people who have fear of dental work. Please don't delay dental assessment.
