Multiple Episodes: Bipolar disorder is a brain disorder that causes unusual shifts in mood, energy, activity levels, and the ability to carry out daily tasks. Symptoms of bipolar disorder are severe. Sounds as if you have experienced frequent episodic changes from your normal mood. Many factors act together to produce the illness or increase your risk. Treatment is essential and can be effective over the long-term.
