My chart reads bipolar vs schizoaffective disorder. what does this mean?

Not sure yet: That means the doctor cannot classify your diagnosis as 100% Bipolar disorder or 100%Schizoaffective disorder. Often patients don't fit neatly into a single category - symptoms and signs overlap so writing it that way in the chart reminds me that the diagnosis is a little blurry and I should consider both when evaluating the patient.

These are both: disorders that effect mood. With 400 characters or less - I could not do your question justice. This is such an important issue - please ask your therapist or doctor to sit down with you to discuss your diagnostic assessment to date. Educating and keeping the patient informed is an important part of treatment. I would encourage you to write down your questions & then ask your provider. Take care.
