Probably : Lithium does occur naturally in most vertebrates including humans, but in extremely micro-quantities. It is one of the trace elements required for normal body and mind functioning, similar to zinc, cadmium, copper, selenium. Lithium as a medication for mood disorders probably works differently though.

Lithium: Yes, more so in europe where mineral water is abundent.
