With help: If manic, you need to call your psychiatrist even if it's not yet your appointment time. Or, have someone else help you with this. Your psychiatrist would want to know, and not wait on this! medications can be adjusted, or admission arranged if this is needed. It depends on how severely ill you are. You can even be seen in an er. For sure, stay away from alcohol and other substances.

See MD of go to ER: Mania is toxic to brain cells. If you suspect you are experiencing mania, immediately call your md and see him/her today. If you cannot get in, go to the er for evaluation and treatment.
