Yes: There is no part of the diagnostic criteria that uses the word violent or any phrase close to the meaning of violent. During a manic episode it might be a possible characteristic of someone's behavior, but it is not part of the diagnosis itself.

Possible- yes.: However increased risk for violence occurs with bipolar disorder. A NESARC survey indicated that over the course of a lifetime, aggressive behavior was noted in 25.34% with Bipolar I Disorder and 13.58% with Bipolar II Disorder with 0.66% for no psychiatric conditions.
