Cyclothymic : Cyclothymic disorder is a subtype of bipolar disorder often ignored. Current evidence indicates that cyclothymic disorder is a prevalent and highly impairing disorder on the bipolar spectrum. In fact perugi et al 2011 found impulsivity could be associated with comorbidity with cyclothymia. Impulsivity often can lead to drug addiction, job loss, loss of relationship and impaired judgement.

Not likely: Both are mood disorders, and one can think of cyclothymia as a low-grade version of bipolar disorder with less extreme mood swings. Get a full evaluation by a reputable psychiatrist to best answer this question.
