Often when people feel better, they stop their medications and relapse. Stay on meds , have them adjusted by your psychiatrist as needed, work with a therapist and your life can be productive. Yes: To be productive , you would have to learn how to manage stress, how to become aware of symptoms, how to take care of yourself, learn good sleep hygiene; and most of all, work toward learning what triggered your initial episode. Having a "crisis card" -- with names of people to call, things to do, your supports will also be helpful. Good luck!
