A member asked:

I have intense shoulder pains. ultrasound has removed the possibility of a liver disease. what do i need to do?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

First: A normal ultrasound does not remove the possibility of liver disease. It can show whether the liver is enlarged, whether the bile ducts are dilated, and if you have gallstones. Liver "disease" is typically discerned with blood tests. You may have shoulder pains from something other than referred pain, for example something to do with the joint. Sorting this out may need more clinical evalutation.
