Serious symptom: If you are forty and have been a smoker of ten to twenty pack years and you don't have acute bacterial bronchitis and you know you coughed it up and are not blowing it out of your nose, you should get a chest x-ray. If there is any suggestion of lung cancer on chest x-ray you should get a ct chest and a bronchoscopy, if you have a bacterial bronchitis and you cough up blood 2 or 3 times and you.
