Blood in sputum: There is concern if > 1-2 teaspoons of blood as opposed to blood streaks , A cold irritates the bronchioles and the force of the cough can cause minor capillary bleeding. Similarly in the nose the congestion,sneeze force and ironically dryness cause capillary breakage and bleeding. Vasoline on the inside of nose at night ,to moisturize.Try a cough supressant , may need antibiotic.Talk to doc
