Work with OB: Because of your age, a pregnancy would be high risk. You need to go in for a renatal consultation, preferably with an OB that does high risk OB or a maternal-fetal medicine (mfm) specialist. You should start on extra floic acid right now if not already doing that, quit any bad habits (smoking...), and then set up that appointment to discuss wasy to optimize conception.

Conceiving: First off, make sure you have sex at least 3 times/week especially around you ovulation times. If you've not been able to conceive for a year, you will need to see a doc to make sure you and your husband have any kind of health issue that prevents you to have a baby. If you don't ovulate, your doc may suggest a medication, but if your tubes are not patent for a example, then you need smth else.

Start with Vitamins.: If you are healthy without any chronnic conditions that require medical care, start out with ensuring you consume enough Folic Acid (at least 400 micrograms) daily, calcium (1200mg) and vitamin d (800 iu). Being 39 years old puts you at higher risk of having some complications, therefore you should secure prenatal care early in the pregnancy. Having difficulties getting pregnant? See you obgyn dr.
