HIV is Hard to Get: In recent years there have been numerous studies of HIV sero-discordant couples and their HIV infection risks. It is now thought that if the HIV positive partner is on medications and fully suppressed with an undetectable viral load they are nearly 100% unlikely to pass this on to their HIV negative partner, . There is also the option of putting the negative partner on truvada (emtricitabine and tenofovir) as a prevention.
