Thyroid issue?: Excellent question. Ideal TSH is debated by many specialists and patients. "normal" reference range was changed several years ago to 0.45-4.5 (down from 0.45-5.5). However, many people feel better w/lower numbers, say 1-2, but not below 0.45. Watch out for palpitations, tremors & bone loss if TSH too low. Hair falls out for many reasons, not just thyroid. Stress can cause hair to fall out.
