Depends: The first and best treatment for a piercing infection is to remove the piercing. It's tough to cure an infection like this if you don't. Once the offending piercing is removed, the infection is often easy to cure with good cleaning and antibiotic creams, avoiding treating the whole body. If the infection has spread from the site, an oral antibiotic might be necessary. A doctor can help decide.
