Are there any steps i can take to prevent mild cluster headache from getting worse?

Medication: You might want to try Motrin for a mild cluster headache(200-600 mg) per dose. I have had success in previous patients with Imitrex (sumatriptan) or other migraine specific agents. Prevention is key. Avoid alcohol and smoking. If you wake up with cluster headaches, sleep apnea may be a cause. Consider having a sleep study done to screen for this.
