A doctor has provided 1 answer

Excess cortisol : Cushing's disease is very uncommon. It is a pituitary tumor that makes a hormone (acth) that stimulates the adrenal gland to make excess cortisol. The treatment is pituitary surgery, sometimes followed by radiation and/or meds. Cushing's syndrome is excess cortisol from any cause - steroid use, adrenal mass or cushings disease. Symptoms are same-obesity, thin fragile skin, easy bruising, etc.
