A member asked:

Is hashimoto possible if mak-tpo is neg.? need to test for anti-thyroglobulin to be sure? can tpo be neg. and tg pos. and what it means in that case?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Possible: But unlikely that you have hashimoto's if tpo is negative. Tg abs can be present in a variety of thyroid and non-thyroid conditions including hashimoto's, but tpo is usually more reliable.
