Short lived headache: Primary stabbing headache, episodic hemicrania, can both be stabbing headaches. They could be however due to intracranial pathology and any severe exploding headache needs evaluated. Depending on the location, frequency, and any other symptoms your doctor should be able to diagnose and if need be treat the primary headache.
