Hyperparathyroidism: I presume you mean primary hyperparathyroidism, which is most commonly caused by an abnormal growth of one of 4 parathyroid glands in the neck. As someone who had the condition myself many years ago, i can assure you that the prognosis is generally excellent. Surgical removal of the enlarged parathyroid gland is almost always curative.
