More to try: Try punctual plugs, which reduce your dependence on drops.

Other options: There are other things you can do besides drops and warm compresses. For example, punctal occlusion may help. You need to see an ophthalmologist specializing in dry eye to get all your options.

Dry eye: In addition to punctum plugs, you may need schirmer 2 testing to determine how much tears your eyes are making. The problem may lie in the oil layer or mucus layer of your tear film. You might need to flush your oil glands of the lids or take flax seed oil. I suggest you see a specialist eye md (ophthalmologist). You can still see your naturopath doctor if you like, but nd treatments have not worked.

Dry eyes!: Start with artificial tears routinely (one drop 4 times a day every day), oral omega-3's, and warm compresses. Next, medicated drops (restasis, mild steroid drops, NSAID drops) or punctal occlusion may be helpful. A humidifier in the home may be helpful.
