It depends: The length of time taken off after a death, depends on your workplace's guidelines. Each company or institution has its own. There may be leeway through your supervisors, and you would need to discuss with them. Loss of someone you love is difficult enough, but suicide brings even more complex emotions and effects. Please get professional support with this -- it really can help. Peace to you.

Grief timing varies : Death whatever the cause is traumatic . Dealing with loss is complex and looks different for each person. Suicide adds its own issues and pain to this difficult situation and may make it harder for the survivors. Everyone affected has to find a way to grieve and then re-enter life . Returning to work will be part of that process
