Remeron (mirtazapine): Remeron (mirtazapine) is an antidepressant. Valium is an anxiolytic of the benzodiazepine group. Both are sedating.

Different med groups: Remeron (mirtazapine) is an antidepressant and valium is an anti anxiety agent . Although many persons who are depressed may also suffer from anxiety , these medications have different indications, mechanisms of actions, effects and side effects.
