HRT: As there are rare but serious risks such as breast cancer and blood clot formation, you should understand these risks and they are acceptable to you. Hormonal Replacement: Hormonal therapy (ht) may be necessary after hysterectomy if both ovaries were removed. Extensive or "bad" endometriosis is not a contraindication for ht as long as most of the disease has been removed. Ht benefits your heart and bones. It also keeps the vagina and sexual response healthy. There's a small risk of residual disease activation. Consult with your physician.
